WordPress Responsive Content Tester

Try longer headings, missing images and narrow layouts on a temporary preview of your own WordPress pages.

Is this the right plugin for you?

For WordPress administrators checking how their own pages cope with real content changes, especially on Oxygen layouts.

What it helps you do

Try longer headings, missing images and narrow widths in a temporary page preview. Find weak spots before editing the original layout.

Install and try your first task

  1. Download, upload and activate the ZIP on a staging copy.
  2. Open Benjamin Olsen → Responsive Content Tester. Choose a published page that you can edit.
  3. Load the preview and try a longer heading at 375 px. Compare Original and With tests.
  4. Hide an image and inspect the remaining spacing. Repeat at tablet and desktop widths.
  5. Restore the original preview and export the report. Fix the real layout in Oxygen, reload and repeat the check.

Check your result

The original page content is unchanged. The exported report helps you find possible horizontal overflow; inspect clipping, overlap and usability yourself.

Requirements and tested scope

Requires WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 8.0+. Administrators also need edit permission for the selected page. The published release has a real private Oxygen preview screenshot. Recheck your installed builder and custom widgets on staging; automated geometry checks do not verify physical devices.

Limits to know before you start

Up to 200 published documents in the selector, 150 text nodes, 60 images, 2,000 scanned elements and 20 findings. Custom scripts and late-loaded widgets require manual checks. It is not an accessibility, SEO or performance audit.

Privacy and stored data

Content changes stay in browser memory. The plugin has no page-content save endpoint. JSON exports contain the public page path or ID, scenarios and finding geometry, excluding form values and preview tokens. Existing custom page scripts can still make requests; use staging.

Changelog

1.0.2

Compatibility fix: each updater leaves other Benjamin Olsen plugins to their own verified update handler. Native Oxygen resources retain the same interface and tested workflows.

1.0.1

Clarify temporary updater metadata caching and correct the support-form link. Preview behaviour is unchanged.

1.0.0

First release: temporary content previews, viewport presets, overflow findings with content widths, exact reset, local JSON export, shared Benjamin Olsen menu and verified WordPress update packages. Use staging; custom page scripts still need manual review.
