Help & download privacy
This page explains how my Help center, robot and plugin downloads handle information. I am Benjamin Olsen, based in Denmark. You can ask about your information or request its removal at the contact address below.
kontakt@benjaminolsen.devMessages to Benjamin
The contact form saves your message, message type, required email and the public page address privately in WordPress. Your email is required so I can reply. Search parameters are removed from the page address. Messages are never published as comments. An email notification tells me that a message is waiting and links to the private administration screen.
I can send a manual reply to the email you provide. Replies and delivery status are saved with your message. An accepted send is not proof that an email reached your inbox. Messages are scheduled for deletion after 180 days. You can also request removal sooner. Contacting me does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Please leave passwords and sensitive personal information out of your message.
Questions for the robot
With your agreement, your question, up to three earlier question-and-answer pairs and the public page reference are sent to OpenAI together with selected, reviewed public website resources. Private WordPress messages and administrator content are excluded from the robot's sources.
The last three pairs are kept in this browser tab's session storage until you clear the conversation or close the tab. Following “Contact Benjamin about this question” temporarily transfers that question into the contact form through session storage; it is removed from storage when the form reads it. It is only sent to me when you submit the form.
The website records request counts, rather than saving conversation text. OpenAI requests use store=false. OpenAI may still retain service logs under its own data policy. AI answers can be wrong: use the linked sources and contact me if the answer does not help.
OpenAI API data controlsPlugin downloads and email forms
Download statistics record an anonymous attempt identifier, plugin, experiment, variant, times, download requests and subscription events. They do not establish unique visitors, completed transfers or installations. Attempt records are kept for 180 days. Analytics records do not store IP addresses or user agents. An hourly salted IP hash is used temporarily to limit download abuse.
Where an email form is enabled, an email without newsletter consent is checked for that download request and is not added to the newsletter database. Newsletter consent is separate and optional in the initial Image Optimizer comparison. Download access does not require confirming a newsletter subscription.
Optional newsletter requests
If you choose to subscribe, WordPress saves your email, consent text, plugin, request date and subscription status, then sends a confirmation email. You become a confirmed subscriber only after confirming. Unconfirmed requests are scheduled for deletion after seven days. Confirmed and unsubscribed records remain until erased, including on your request.
Confirmation emails include a cancellation or unsubscribe link. The list is currently stored privately in WordPress; this feature does not automatically send newsletters or transfer the list to a newsletter provider. Website email is delivered through my Simply.com mail service.
Project progress and anonymous usage counts
Project-path checkboxes are stored locally in this browser under stable step identifiers. They are not an account, do not sync between devices and are not sent to the server. Reset progress clears the stored progress for that path. Anonymous daily counts record fixed events such as starting or completing a path, opening its public resources, generating a tool result, searches without results and choosing contact after an insufficient robot answer. These records contain known tool names or public resource IDs, not your search terms, tool inputs, checkbox state, questions, messages or email. Counts are not unique visitors or confirmed downloads. Administrator activity, staging and Do Not Track requests are excluded. These counters are stored in WordPress and do not send new events to Google Analytics.
Browser preferences and service providers
Language and page-tip preferences use local storage. Hiding the robot uses session storage for the current visit. These settings do not identify you. The features described here also use WordPress hosting, Simply.com email and, only for agreed AI requests, the OpenAI API.
These explanations cover the Help center, robot and download features. Other website services, including any enabled Google analytics services, have separate settings and data handling; the download figures above are the website's own request records.
